Afraid to even try....
Hi, all. I'm 56 years old. For about 25 years I worked as an Admin. Asst. in various types of fields. I gained a lot of knowledge and skills. I have one year of community college in something that's unrelated, no other education. About 10 years ago, some life circumstances changed and I ended up working seasonally (Jan. - Apr. of every year) doing taxes for some major chains. I would like to get back into the Administrative field, but at this point my skills are so out-of-date and I feel like I don't stand a chance anywhere due to age discrimination. I had thought that my best bet would be completing some type of classes to become thoroughly reacquainted with Word, Excel, and Outlook, then applying to some temp agencies. If anyone has any suggestions or advice I would really welcome it. Thanks!

Check out Udemy.com . They have some great and affordable classes. I'm in the same boat as you as far as age is concerned (only older). But it's illegal to discriminate and if you can show you're better than anyone else, you'll get the job. Udemy also has some great courses on how to interview.
I'm sure if you do these things, your confidence will go up and you'll find the RIGHT job!! Make sure it's one you're going to enjoy. It's your life
Try YouTube. There are some good videos that will go over Microsoft Office. It really hasn't changed all that much in 10 years I don't think. What's changed is how people use technology for video conferencing, apps on your phone, ie, Concur for expenses... stuff like that. You got this!
