I love my job but...
I love my job but there is no chance of progressing in my career. There is no benefits or pay raises. Other than that I really enjoy what I do and the experience that I get to have with other customers that stay at the hotel.

Brianna im sorry but working at hotels get you no where. I have worked at hotels for 20 years. My boss just fired me and now its hard to get a mew job he is giving out bad stuff. He knew he had a great worker. Now he wont let anyone else have me

Brianna Look into working at Ben's Disposal, Tehachapi State prison, or look into moving into an area where more opportunities exist. Tehachapi is a small and remote city. Good luck!

Let your supervise know what your short term goals are and what you are doing to increase your skill sets. There plenty of interaction with people and hopefully other hotels within the area you refer customers to if you are over booked. Look to these hotel for possible job change and career opportunities but also look at cross over jobs i.e Car rental, Amazon, and the like.

I am confident that you are ultimately skilled and talented with a positive personality,I also believe you can progress,by learning all you can about the customer growth over the past few months, come up with ideas about making their stay more memorable, even with small accents in their rooms like figures created from the wash cloths and towels, like a cruise.message me and I would like to help you grow in your industry.I have some ideas.Hope you will let me help.Respectfully, your fellow hospitality worker.

different hotelor career but try a different hotelfirst. I tried about 7 different hotels in ;last 12 years. I had to remember why my first hotelwas so good because it simply had a awesome owner with a awesome managemengt staff. Yes this hotel was privately owned and my present one is as well privately owned. Because the private ones are older have character and do not need to follow silly chain hotelrules. These hotels believe on keeping their people by paying them better and keeping them and not firingthem.also hotels donot always have movement upward but more latteral.

Your picture indicates that you have a lot of responsibility, and care to provide. We all like to be comfortable at what we do. It's not easy to move on, but when we do, we usually find that the change was good, if you follow the correct guidance. When my situation permits, I'm running for the door.

Hi there. I don't know what your personal situation is. But have you thought about going to school? You're obviously a customer service oriented person. Maybe opening your own business may be an option? Something in sales maybe?

Brianna ' it really does suck to actually have a job that u love , and to know there's no benefits or pay raises, it's like the Cons out weigh the pros by a big margin It's also so stressful to know ur getting nowhere with what you love doing which is truly a journey to repeat that feeling again. But it's possible to find somthn else u could have that ssme love for, tough but possible ! But it's your choice Bri" may God walk with you and i know u will be ok!! Someone sees you and the incredible person you r

That's alright, I have been where you are. I don't know how long you have been there but at times we get to comfortably and complacent. The key is that you have now mastered the skills to put yourself in a different place or position. Take what you have learned and build on it. If hospitality is your niche then grow it, nurture it. It will all pay off at the end.
Hospitality jobs have little or no change of progression. But it is a stable, demanding and need position in customer service. There are good hotel benefits in working in hospitality.Lay offs are never and issue in the hotel industry. It's a secure job. On the other hand if you apply for another job for the sake of making more money, all that will be lost and you will have to start all over as a new employee. And you may be subjected to bad leadership that could let you go if staffing issues require them to lay off workers. While your working there, take hospitality management classes (Community College, or Business school) Acquire more educational leverage before you try to leap to the next level. Don't give up. Stay focus, Improving your job skills through education will benefit you and your family in the future. It may be difficult. Don't be afraid to step up to things that will improve your career and family future. Just do it.
