I'm settling

After 10 months of unemployment, with March my unemployment stopped. My numerous interviews with companies I've always wanted to work for. I just got hired for a consultant gig which I am also taking a pay cut for. Now I know its going to be hard to take off for another interview but I guess to pay rent and bills I have to settle.

Hello sometimes we do what we have to and not what we want to do, so sometimes we do settle until we better. In other words work what you got until you get what you really want. It's called a process.

Just a thought; When you devote your time and efforts to doing your best at every job you do, the pay raises will take care of themselves. When you approach every job enthusiastically in a spirit of friendly cooperation, you distinguish yourself from the vast majority of people whose primary concerns include breaks, benefits, paychecks, and quitting time. .....Good Luck! .....

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, but that doesn't mean you have to stop looking for the perfect job,. Most interviewers understand that when currently have a job you can't just drop everything and run to an interview, when you get an interview let then know that you currently are employed and you can't really leave early for an interview because you do have a commitment with your current employer, but if possible could you schedule and interview for your off hours, most respectable employers will under this and appreciate your commitment to your current employer and schedule something as to not interfere will your current job...good luck.

Hi Jason,

Congratulations on landing a consulting gig! While it might be a pay cut for now, it is also a job that you can excel at! Hopefully they will offer you something more permanent, but even if they do not you will have more resume experience! Best of luck, and keep monitoring Jobcase for other job opportunities!

I'm going to to tag Patricia Collins here incase she has any video editing (or equivalentt) jobs open.
