I really enjoyed getting an education because...
I went to school at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California. Clearly one of the highlights of my life. Perhaps it was because I was 18 years of age. But in an amazingly scenic small city and rural area near the beach, mountains and and significant cultural/historic setting, the school emphasized, "learn by doing". Projects, not just books and essay papers, were the main draw of the school. You not only learned your major; mine was in the School of Architecture and Environmental Design; you learned from the other students, who had majors from mechanical engineering to animal husbandry because projects were being developed out in the open; everywhere. An amazing place.

Amazingly most 18 year old don't enjoy the smaller cities, nor appreciate learning outside the box!

What piece of advice would you give to someone interested in this school?
