Tough Decision
I was offered a job working in a test kitchen - a dream job for me, the kind of work I have always wanted to do- but the reviews of the company by former employees are horrible. They literally say - do not work here. Terrible hours (7 am - 4:30) and crazy rules like no talking til after 11, no eating at your desk, etc. The person who had the job before me only lasted three months. Any advice?

You really have to filter company reviews and consider the source. For example, if you were to read the reviews of the last company I worked for, you would run away screaming. But to me, I enjoyed my job, my team, and I liked the company. What I found is that many of the worst reviews were written by ex or current employees who were not suited for the work. To each their own! I'd love to work in a test kitchen too and if I were you, I'd reread those reviews with a new perspective.
