I’m guessing you don’t have any experience as a Diesel tech? If you haven’t you really will need to pass the ASE T2 Heavy Duty Diesel Engine exam. With one ASE cert you should be able to find a shop that will hire you as an apprentice. If you dont want to get any certifications then you’ll have to start at the very bottom. It really depends on how eager you are to learn and how hard are you willing to work. Guys get hired to sweep the floor and clean oil drain pans and the ones that take instruction and work hard find that there employer will invest in training and developing them. Don’t expect to go to a trade school and get hired for a six figure salary. Won’t happen. Your timing is good. Literally every trucking company, repair shop, and dealership is hiring techs. Last time I looked for a job I sent in application I got a call from them within minutes and an offer letter that afternoon. Started the next day.
