My 'power suit is red. I also have a black suit and a plum colored suit, which I get compliments on. I do also have a purple dress with a matching jacket.

Since it's an accounting position, look at the company culture. If it's laid back, you can probably skate by, If it's more traditional, you might want to get a more traditional skirt and jacket suit. If money's tight, try hitting the nearby thrift stores. You can often find a suit there for under $30. Deseret Industries is a great place to start, as the stores are well organized and prices are generally reasonable and I'd recommend the smaller independent thrift stores over Goodwill.

Hi Kelly, Sounds like a great outfit. :) I would interpret the recruiter's 'power suit' comment to mean: be dressed professionally. And if you're still unsure, then call the recruiter up & ask whether the suit is really what s/he meant.

Great question Kelly! Unless the office you are interviewing with has a business formal dress code, I think a black dress would be just fine! Especially with the blazer.
