Interview went horribly wrong

A post office that is 20 minutes away from me was hiring for PSE, which is the clerk and people that sort the mail. I took the test and passed with an 85. Week later I got a call about an interview. She told me over the phone it would be part time and the hours do vary. I may also be doing some split shifts. I may work 6-8am then come back and work 3-5. I told her I am fine with that and the 20 minute drive does not bother me. We set up the interview. I'm all pumped for this interview. It maybe part time, but, the benefits and pay from a post office are great. I would have been set. I get to the interview and everything starts out great. But then, they remind me about the split shifts and the drive I would be making. Once again I tell them I am fine with that. The lady I talked to on the phone kept saying they do not pay for mileage and gas keeps getting more and more expensive as the nice weather continues. I told her I understand, but, the drive does not bother me. I'm in Illinois, so, they also kept bringing up how bad winter can be and I cannot miss work due to weather. One person that misses makes everyone else mad and doubles their work load. I told them if the weather is bad I will leave early to give myself time to get there, I will not miss work due to weather. Then we got to my jobs. One question they asked was "how well do you get along with your co-workers and supervisors?" I told them great. I always get along with them no matter the situation. She saw on the application I put I left because of management for one of my jobs. I explained what happened. Which was she showed favoritism towards family. If we were not family we were the ones she would come to when she wanted to do something with them. The lady interviewing me told me I just lied. I told her no I didn't. She said "you said you get along with your supervisors. This sounds different to me." I told her I do get along with my supervisors no matter the situation. She treats her family better than us. I tried talking to her, but it got me nowhere. I did not want to resign, but, I was not going to continue to get treated like nothing all because she has family working there when she is not supposed to." The lady that was sitting in there listening said sounds like you bring drama with you. The lady doing the interview told me to wait a couple weeks I should get an email. As I was getting ready to leave saying bye and thank you for having me. The lady interviewing me kept interrupting me saying okay bye and kept rushing me out. I was beyond frustrated and disappointed. I wanted the job, but, how the interview turned I know I am not getting the position. I even called a couple times to see if the position was full and that I was still interested, but, she has yet to call me back.

I thank she was checking to see if you were getting mad . I don't see why she wouldn give you the job when you told her you don't mind working when there bad weather. And the part about your superior you had told her that you had one problem with your superior she sound as she didn't believe you. But I thank she still should have hire you after all you told her that the driving want no problem she got some B'S with her.

Well check this out....never put your reason for leaving.just you decided to move on...sounds like they didn't want you to have the job in the first place but are obligated to have so many interviews.....however you do sound like a person that would fit in in a lot of places so you will make it.

Hey EVERYONE!!! I just saw Ashley's latest post she added 2 days ago (that would be Friday, July 23). SHE HAS A NEW JOB!! Great going, Jobcase Community for taking the time to encourage, offer correct thinking and advice! Her post says 'I got over it and have a new job.' She kept up the vigil like so many of you advised, and a door opened.

@Susan McCormick - Who said anything about Jesus offering jobs? How did you come to that 'understanding' when. jobcaser commented 'keep your head up, Jesus will open doors?' What a pathetic and trite comment YOU gave while everyone else gave solid, encouraging and insightful advice and correction. You took the conversation Off-Topic and gave no substantive input. It matters not to me if you don't carry a belief concept. What matters is that you are a member of the community, but your sarcaastic comment makes you appear immature, the attention-seeking type whose sole purpose here and in Life is to detract (substract) and bring immaterial fodder into the serious dilemmas of others, while WE are here to support, suggest, even correction and still give helpful insight. Hang up the phone with your shallow comments. You add nothing to the honor and integrity of the Jobcase Community. You stick pins in people's balloons - and their balloons need AIR, not YOU.

They were aghast that you told the truth and you weren't on someone's bandwagon and you had done your work plus you doing the right thing if you know what I mean. In other words you did your part and that's that.

Honey, don't worry God has something better for you, because that was not a professional interview she already had her mind made up about you, and she probably can't keep good help because of miss. Mouthy in back ground, she do not know you she had no right...I would report her, but like I said God got something better. Keep that head up and straight. God bless you

Just again take this as a learning experience for your next interview. Interviews are hard sometimes because we don't know what they will be asking. Just jot this one down for memory because I am sure it will come up again..
