To beard OR not to beard...that is the ?

My beard is kind of my thing. I have had it for a LONG time and while I keep it trim do you guys think I have to shave it totally off for my interview? I want to be respectful and all that, but it's tough to come between a man and his beard.

If the job requires it, cut it. But if not, make sure you come into the interview with a fresh professional trim. #ProblemSolved

You don't see women saying I can't shave my legs....the hair has been growing for SOOOO long. Come on!!! Dude really?? SHAVE IT OFF. You can re-grow it. I don't understand some men and their attachments to their facial hair.

I guess it depends on how long it is and also what the job is. I feel like there are certain expectations set by society today for how both men and women should appear at work. There of course are some exceptions. My brother has been on the job hunt for a medical assistant and has a HUGE beard too. I told him to shave it off. He didn't listen. No job yet.
