What is the proper protocal to confirming onsite interviews- Rude and Embarassed
I had an initial interview with the supervisor who invited me back for a second interview to meet with the team members. She called me a day before for the second interview and ask can we re schedule the second interview the following week due to the holiday weekend for the same time next week- my respond was sure, absolutely and I understand. I send out an email the day before to confirm my onsite interview which she never reply to. Not sure whether to go or not- I went because I did not want to drop the ball on my part. I get there today , she is not in the office and the team members are looking at me like I am crazy-which to say at that moment I am completely embarrassed. When they finally contacted her over the phone she states that she never confirmed with me. I am the type of person if someone sends an email to confirm an appointment it is proper business protocol to respond. Is that too much to ask for- it was rude on her part. I don't know if I should send a letter stating our conversation from last week. I am a recruiter and the job calls for you to responsive and flexible. What should I do?
Yes, I would definitely say a response should have been sent. I would follow up with her apologizing for the mixup and if there is another time she would like you to come in.
