Hi Shakil: Thanks for posting to Jobcase - sorry you're having a tough time with your job search. The community is here to help you out! When you're applying for jobs, do you follow up on each application? If not, try calling the locations you apply to a few days later and ask to speak to a manager. Don't be afraid to be persistent in finding out if they received your application and when you can expect to hear back from them. Hope this advice helps!

Hey Shakil, I've been applying online every day for the last 3 months so I totally understand your concern over not getting call-backs. Those email messages you get are automated so everyone who applies gets one but that doesn't mean someone's going to call. I went to a job fair today and overheard one of the Human Resources representatives, for a major company, tell an applicant that they DO NOT CALL BACK! Interested applicants need to follow-up. Her response blew me away! I approached her and asked "what the best way to follow-up?" She laid out the process for me as follows: Call First - call the company and ask for the Personnel Manager, Human Resources Department, or Office Manager. Email - If you don't have a direct contact email then use the 'Contact Us' link on their website. Make sure you include all your information including application date, position, and resume. Walk-in - Last resort but worth trying especially if it's a retail location. Make sure you have your resume and be prepared to explain your work background, skills, and desire to work for company/position in 3 mins or less. Companies that advertise job opening receive hundreds of applications everyday so you need to be aggressive and persistent in order to get an interview opportunity. Hope this helps!
