I was wrongfully fired also
Hello I'm 60 yrs old. I have 16 yrs as a medical assistant. I still had a 17 yr old to finish school. I was so close to retireing. Pay was $17.00 per hour. I never was late or call in unless an emergency or sick. I was picked on by the manager she had called HR on me cause she wanted to know why I wasn't smiling,I was accused of bulking, suspended without pay,stripped from my medical assistant duties an moved in another area with a different doctor. I was lied on by the staff in the other area. Every week I was across the hall with HR an the union. I even took 2 months of FMLA came back still across the hall with HR an the union.My union rep he didn't care about me am my job.He just sat there an didn't even try to help me. I was fired May 1st an just started getting unemployment in September. I had forgotten fight for it cause they didn't want to give it to me. I really don't even want to work any more Cause this person set out to destroy me an did financially.

Kimberly Barnes, I can't say I understand why you had so many problems with people in each of your departments. But the first thing I want say is if you are having problems everywhere you are going, you must examine whether everyone is perceiving you the wrong way and reflect inward, correct any issues you may bring to the table. The second thing I'd like to say is if at 60, your pay was $17 an hour, you are probably not financially ready for retirement, so get back in the game, find another place to work. Hospitals and doctors' offices. Keep at it until something materializes.
We cannot give up. Stay encouraged. Keep working on yourself to become more pleasant to be around, and keep positive!

I wouldn't give up if this career field is one you enjoy! Words of advice as a ex Director of Nursing... Keep a journal of ALL incidents. If you have email at any job you must always hold others accountable by emailing them and start off by saying "per our conversation on (date) and then state what was said "........." followed by the statement "I am following up with you" in order to challenge them to change what they said or what they didn't communicate right with you! Also never hesitate to cc a copy to whomever is your direct manager. I would also print these emails out as proof to the negligence or harassment that is taking place. This is probably the best way to hold others accountable and show you own ability to follow up. You can also email yourself with daily task you tackled to show all your daily work being completed. Good luck in the future and don't let anyone steal your sunshine in a profession you enjoy!
Contact EEOC and file a complaint against the company and the Union reps. God be with you and remember....No weapon formed against you shall prosper...Pray before you act. Don't react out of anger, and be careful to speak.
So was I. Trust me when I say that this kind of injustice happens to someone for every occupation on the planet. It has happened to me personally now 3 times.
move on and start your on business you have 17yrs of experience make it happen .
I am in financial trouble too. I got sick and my security site was lost wile I was out without my Company securing me another site. Now I am without work. I have $10.00 in my account and about $19.00 in my wallet.
I hear you about being destroyed financially. That happened to me. I left a job I was there for 5 yrs to take another position. I was let go only 4 months in. I too had to fight for unemployment. I am 1 step from living in a shelter. I could not afford food or heating oil for the house. I do not have benefits and can not afford my prescriptions. I have not paid the mortgage in 4 months. So yes I do understand.

Hellooo! I'm hearing all your bad but what's your problem? Attitude, lazy, incompetent, can't be told what to do? Why did you get fired? You better be that model employee and jealousies is the proble! Then you use for damages! But, you are giving up! Somethings wrong here!! If it is what it is then you better hit that road, find another job and finish supporting your 17 year old! C'mon, millions lose jobs!
