I don't have experience with the same situation, but if you have experience as a store manager at one location, you should be able to find work somewhere else doing something similar!

The decision to take a pay cut & transfer entirely depends on if you think you can survive off of the paycut in the new location that the company would be transferring you too. If not, I think taking the severance and looking for a new job doing the same thing somewhere else can be a good option. You'd be ahead of a few people who don't have the severance pay to hold them afloat on their job search.

Ultimately though, it's going to be up to you on what decision to make. Are you ready to go on the job hunt or are you comfortable and happy enough at your job to take the transfer?
