Cumberland County Probate Court

At the end of my rope...

I moved to Florida from Maine a few years ago. The first job I tried here was management with an assisted living home. I did not stay at the job gave my notice after 3 months, due to lack of training, and questionable policies from the upper management and owners of the company. Then I took a job with a grocery store and liquor enjoyed up but ended up having to leave it from having to have emergency surgery and then not being about to lift more than 10 pounds repetitively. So I was stupid and gave my notice instead of not letting myself being laid off. I keep going to job interviews but am not having any luck getting a job.

Hi Jeffrey, your title is definitely an eye catcher, prompting me to open it and read further. Here are a few simple ideas that came to mind to get your started in the right direction and change the course of your employment or even career search. First, to get you on the right track, follow the instructions from the Jobcase advisers because they have helped many people change their lives by actively responding to those in need. Next, meeting people face to face outside business hours, is a great way to introduce yourself and your skills. Networking in your city can open many overlooked doors. Also, look over the posts on this forum to see what helpful advice others share. One final tip, you never know who could be viewing these boards, or any social media platforms, so always be professional and responsible with your comments. When an employment seeker posts with grammatical errors, misspellings, and unedited sentences, it gives the wrong first impression. This particularly stands out in your post: "Then I took a job with a grocery store and liquor enjoyed up". Very confusing, and leads the reader to question your writing abilities. I hope this helps. We all need to hear what is going to help us and understand it is for our good. Blessings, Donna

Hi Jeffrey Kimball - Welcome to Jobcase! Sorry to hear about your latest hardship with your health and previous employment. I guess the big question is what are you able and ready to do? What type of job are you looking for? Update your profile and give us an idea of how we can help.

In the meantime, please note that you can search and apply for jobs with a few simple steps right here on Jobcase.

1. Click on Jobs & Companies at the top of the page, or head over [here] (http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search)

2. Enter a job into the search field where it says Job Title, Keywords, or Company.

3. Add in your location by filling in your City and State OR zip code. Then click the magnifying glass to search.

4. Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.

Good luck with your job search!
