How can I advance my career as a Sous Chef?

Stay dedicated to your craft. Absorb everything around you not just the food aspect of it but the front of the house as well. Watch the flow of the business. Don't be afraid to try and explore new things, and always share that. Good or bad it's a great learning experience. Keep cooking bruh and enjoy it more importantly.

Going to school isn't enough. Be creative, take in everything your Chef is willing to teach you. Ask if you can run a special . Then show them what you can do. Good luck

Learn every station don't fold on what the oder guys are doing or how much they are getting pay do ur job ask question learn the flow of the kitchen and then ask ur chef I wanna hear the other part of the restaurant tell him u are ready

Are you a sous now ? If not you need to get yourself noticed how? By being available finish all your assigned task quickly and you my be efficient neatness orderly and be ready to assist whoever needs a hand and ask questions always looking to expand your own knowledge of the kitchen ask questions and never be afraid to learn something different

Go to a culinary school.
In my experience the gane changes, companies unfortunately look for a yes man... the point of the game is to transition yourself away from the line the get a total understanding of how the overall restaurant functions. Get people excited and happy to work for you, lend them a helping hand when needed. Its difficult when you are low in staff which mean youll have to do the prep, cooking, etc, long hours are a must to be successful. You will be challenged in. Your homelife if you are not prepared 2 days ahead and have a vast knowledge of food and beverage. Good luck
