Corporate is toxic. Store manager is coasting waiting to retire, plays favorites with personal friends. Some racial favoritism towards African Americans. Some associates are more cutthroat than others. Infractions are almost never dealt with, promises only. One of my coworkers was verbally abused and berated by a supervisor on a regular basis, the issue went to HR. Almost immediately, someone from corporate (NOT HR) came instore and squashed it. The person from corporate is a personal friend of the abuser. My Coworker was told she was wrong. The current pay is $7.50 per hour plus commission. When I started it was $10 plus 5% commission. Now you'd be lucky to get 2% com. In addition they changed from a weekly to bi-weekly pay scale. This allows them keep commission down. They only pay com. on things that have "shipped". So they can keep hold of your money longer. They also cut the delivery schedule, also cutting into the shipped merch. i will say that the current SALES manager (not the store manager) is a great guy, and tries to be fair and friendly to all. Unfortunately, the higher ups tie his hands. The business office is well managed, and friendly. I still wouldn't recommend the job. So : The pay is bad, management is worse, and corporate is toxic.
