
What experience do I need to be hired as a Dishwasher?
I have 20 years of housekeeping experience at OSF Healthcare in Peoria Illinois.

Just have a positive attitude it’s a very important role in the restaurant business don’t let peaple think it’s a bottom barrel job most of the time you can start on the bottom and work your way up

Sir my experience two years

It just takes a lot of common sense. Keep the dirty dishes separate from the clean ones. This will prevent cross contamination. Keep you area as clean as you can. Have designated times for deep cleaning of the dish washing area. Sweeping, mopping, sanitizing. Put out trash at least twice a shift or as needed. Keep clean dishes in a designated place. Plates and bowls go here. Silverware and serving dishes there. Cups and pots in a location were Cooks can easily access them

None. You already have skills washing dishes at home. But for industrial dishwashing you have to have help with the dishes if you are by yourself for eight hours a day you will distory your arm from all the things you need to spray before the machine gets it with a lot of elbow grease. So be careful with which dish pit you end up in

You'll need to be able to keep up with a steady pace if it's a fast environment
Dishwashing is much like martial arts: stay organized, stay focused, be like water, water does not compete, it finds its own level, water is very mutable, but when focused, it can penetrate almost anything be like water. Hot water does half the work for you, and being organized does the other half. People who say that dishwashing at a restaurant is like dishwashing at home are incorrect. Being organized makes you fast and efficient; being focused makes you even faster and more efficient.
