Worst dealership EVER when it comes to the hiring process

I recently applied to Tasca Ford in CT for the BDC rep position through Indeed. I quickly received an email of interest from them staying they would like me to come in for an interview a day later and to pick a time that best for my schedule. I picked 1 pm. I received an email back notifying that they had already booked that time slot and if I would be able to make it at 2 instead that time was open. I gladly picked that time. I showed up about 10 minutes early expecting to interview with the woman that had sent me the emails. When I asked for her (Brittany) I was told there was no Brittany there. An older gentleman walked up to me and said I would be interviewing with him, he would be with me shortly and to take a seat. Well literally standing right next to me was another applicant for the same position coming in for her interview as well. We looked at each other puzzled at what was going on. Regardless, we went up to the conference room where he had us take a seat. Another gentleman came in a few minutes later also applying for the same position. The hiring agent went through our resumes and asks a few questions and made notes on our resumes. He saw that I had experience in BDC. The male applicant had never worked in a dealership before and was not dressed the part. More like he had just finished mowing his lawn. The female with us had IT experience but she thought she was interviewing for a reception position. Once he went through his questions he said we were great applicants and he would be fast tracking us to the next level of interviews immediately. He asked if we could come back today at 10 am to meet one on one with the "department manager". I had another interview set already for 10 so he said to come in at 11 and that would be no issue.

I arrived at 11 and was told to go back to the same conference room from the day before and he would meet me up there shortly. When I got to the room it was already full of other applicants. Atleast 18 total. They had been there since 9:45 am basically sitting around waiting on the interview to start. I took the last seat in the room and waited. We sat there waiting until 12:30 before the GM came in to speak to us as a group and give us the history of the dealership. All at the same time he was continuously texting on his phone and making barely any eye contact with any of us. He then left. The job recruiter said that the managers would be up shortly to take us in for one on one interviews shortly. By this time about 4 of the applicants got tired of waiting as well as being ignored while directly speaking to the GM and they left. They then had us reseat ourselves by the job position we were there for. All but two people were there for a sales position. Myself and one other female was there for BDC. we then waited about another 45 minutes before the GM came back in the room and picked the very last person to arrive for the first interview. That took about 45 minutes. We asked about if there were going to be department managers coming to interview for the diff positions and the recruiter then notified us that the GM would be holding all the interviews. Well 4 hours later 8 of us were still sitting there waiting on an interview. Some left due to obligations and the fact that no one notified us this would be an ALL DAY process. By the time I left and gave up on the interview was about 4pm. There were still 6 aside from me waiting for the interview. The recruiter made the comment that "well I did say you would be interviewed today". I spouted off at that with "yes and you were extremely vague and also stated we would see department managers not the GM." It was a complete waste of my time and all of there's too. The GM was a smug asshole that was randomly picking people by his decision and when one of the applicants asked to go next so he could get to his job on time the GM in front of the group said "who are you? I don't know you!" The the GM turned to the recruiter in front of the man and the rest of us and said "who is this guy and why does he think he can get preferential treatment when he arrived late?" He arrived at the time he was told to arrive. I felt so bad for this applicant but at the same time all I could think was this is a huge farce. They state they are the largest ford dealership in the world and that john force races their cars. Umm john force races Camaros. Needless to say that a dealership that large should have been better prepared and organized this a bit better. They didn't even offer us a water in all the hours we sat there. Nothing. Then the recruiter wanted to take a selfie with the damn group with him in it. Such bullshit!! On top of that, the ad stated salary to start at 50k plus. When we arrived they said oh no it starts at 35k and you can work on commission to make the rest. So the ad as falsely advertised. Makes me question and job as on indeed to be accurate anymore. Really took a lot out of me and all the applicants. A big waste of time for absolutely nothing. Gotta love it. Never again!! Was so unimpressed with the professionalism of the GM. If any one ever told me they were applying there I would ward them off like I was trying to save them from the plague. Worst experience ever.

Wow! It seems as if they take advantage of being the largest dealership and get away with just about everything.
