Don't want to sound stupid!
I am going to this job fair, but what should I ask when I meet with them? Or should I not ask them anything? Can anyone help me out...

First step is to determine the type of job fair. Some actually want to recruit people and collect resumes, others are merely PR stunts to put on airs that you are doing something for the sponsoring organization, but doesn't really want resumes. So a good starter question is ' what type of skillsets is your organization looking to recruit?'

Hi Nathan, job fairs usually have a bunch of different company recruiters that you can drop a resume to.Ask them what they are looking for.Ask them if they see a position you might be a good fit for.Ask them about what their company is doing lately. If you happen to see a company there that you really really want to work for,,, hang around until they tell you to buzz off,,,lol,,, i did that with metroworks codewarrior job fair,,they were like,,, well, we will keep your resume on file. They gave me a pencil and neat gift bag for stopping by,Nathan just bring a stack of resumes and make the rounds. The recruiter will grab onto you quick if they see something they want, without you having to ask much of anything ;)

I wouldn't stress it too much, make sure you go in clean - take a shower, wear deodrant, hair brushed, nice appearance (no holes in clothes), make sure you are mannered, say please and thank you when having a conversation as well as have a good day. You could also ask if it is a seasonal position for example, if it may turn into a full time permanant job. Most of the time job fairs or hiring events hire people on the spot, it isnt like a sit down interview with questions being asked.
Good luck! Try not to stress it too much; try not to be nervous, take deep breaths and think positive thoughts before you go in as in, "I've got this!"...
If for any reason you dont get a job; remember, to never be hard on yourself as things happen for a reason. Sometimes better opportunities come by when you least expect them.
For example: I had a Hardees job that paid pretty well at 9 an hour, well I knew that was decent money compared to 7 an hour and with bills being lower amount on rent at 250 a month it would still give me some money left over for the things I need. Turns out after my excitement, it soon turned to anger because I found my manager there would talk to employees badly. Just not s way a manager should be.. my anger turned into sadness as I knew it was an opportunity I would have to be letting go. Guess what though? I'm now about to start a better opportunity after a job fair making $15 an hour so you know you cannot always let things get you down in life as I tell people. You know I'm not sure if you believe in God (but if you dont, that's simply okay as I'm not enforcing religion on anyone) but just wanted to point out I do and I believe God has a plan for us and it may not be the one we had planned on. We come into peoples lives for a reason and only God knows that purpose of why he brought us somewhere.... ok or if you wasnt a believer you could just say too- things happen in life for a reason. Sometimes people need us more than we ever know and we might land a job with someone needing a listening ear for example and let's just say you didnt get a job before that, well there ya go, that was the purpose in life of why things happen for a reason... also, never, ever give up hope or let things bring you down, always remain happy through the trying times in life as we only have one life and we need to appreciate the life we have. Sometimes people in other countries or other locations of our own country may have it harder than us, we never know whom we can impact and make a difference in someones life.
Best wishes,
Michelle
Ps. My daughter is too bright and changed my email to her name and I do not know how to change it back so that's why I put my name. :)
Have a good day!

One of the things I was told by a hiring manager after I did not get the job, because I asked him what would have given me a better leg-up. He said, learn everything you can about the company, age, everything that they do, etc. It doesnt really matter what questions you ask, it's about you taking the time to do the research to show them you are interested in the company.

You ask all questions that pop into your mind, to get the full detail of the company the company's operations. The stupidest question you ask is the one you don't ask. If there are any questions you avoid are requesting time off and things of that nature. They will want to see your eagerness for work. The time off and vacations will come as your time grows. Best of luck!!!

Ask them everything you want to know about the job, but stay away from salary and days off.
Hi Nathan.. Thank you for this question!! I feel that you should figure out what companies are coming and are they really hiring the posts you are looking for and also figure out the posts are really matching with your future and current career goals and accordingly you can ask them the questions like how soon the position is starting and really verify if they are hiring nearby locations and very important the remuneration. First of all it's important to see what companies are coming accordingly you can research and go as for different companies your queries will be different!!
All the best!! God bless you!!
Will chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo for your success!! You can do that too!!
Warmest
