The best advice I can give anyone who is applying for everything under the sun is to not waste your time applying for everything under the sun. Instead, focus your job search to places you want to work and go there in person if you can. Don't be concerned whether or not they have a job opening. If they are interested, they will talk to you, because employers don't always have the time or the resources to sift through hundreds of resumes and applications. If they have a receptionist, get to know her first before your interview. Receptionists can be you best advocate. Also, always ask for the manager when providing your resume, because who knows, you may be replacing the person who takes your resume.
