To inspire

I like a lot of people have been going through a lot of "stuff!" and I will be 67 this month. Of course its harder as we age but outlook is everything. Of course, we go through down days and challenges. My last 4 years have to be rough due to my last relationship which left me starting over at 63! I have been through a ton of changes, a lot of which were not to my liking. However, giving up is not an option, we dig deep, pray for guidance, ask for help and move on. I lost my last job right after thanksgiving but was determined 2020 would be good. I was humble (a good think to learn) told everyone I needed a job. I got the call either Dec 26th or 27th and interview the next day. I was offered position on 31st. I start my new job Jan. 7th. If I can do this at my age, I know you can too! Good luck to you all.

Unemployed

I am 66 and haven’t worked since 2004. I am finding it very difficult, but I am determined to get a job. I have had a total of 46 surgeries and I think everything is finally repaired( LoL) I am a disabled veteran. I know that I would make someone a great employee if someone would just give me the chance. Congrats on your job, you have inspired me not to give up. Thank you. May God bless you on your new endeavor. Nancy Brown

Sales Executive

Congrats! I was let go August 5th by the company that bought out an employer that I would have been part owner of as of this month if not for the buyout. The only real opportunity that came after a month of unemployment was a previous employer from 20 years ago and it doesn't pay what I really need ($15/hr or more) so I'm still looking while I work 8-5 Mon-Fri, 90 minutes on Sat mornings and drive nearly 30 mins ea way.

Not easy at 50. I have been one of their most consistent people in attendance, work ethic and integrity. Like always being 30 mins early. I have always been 30 mins to an hour early everywhere I have worked. When you live farther away, have regular traffic and sometimes weather to deal with it's even more important to be early.

It's an outbound telemarketing job to businesses in a specific industry and while I've been in Inside and outside sales for many years, looking for something more in inbound customer service. Hopefully closer to home too.

I've been offered some interviews but always during the hours I'm already working and I've been afraid to try to take off during my current work hours just in case the one I was to go interview for doesn't happen and how many times would I need to before I find something. I have been available for Phone interviews during my lunch breaks but none seem to be calling.
