US Navy Veteran unemployed
My name is Charles McKoy, I a US Navy Veteran that's been unemployed since February. I was an aviation machinist mate / corrosion control tech with collateral duties. Retired with 20 years. Worked for Morale Welfare and Recreation for 11 years as maintenance helper, maintenance man, craftsman. Change bases, reduced to rec aid, laborer. Was terminated, vehicle down hard. My truck was hit by off duty police officer, accident was considered my fought even though I was at a stand still. Trying to get employment but transportation is limited. I live in Chalmette Louisiana. I could use a hand up, a car/van pool. Employers to those hiring, you will not be disappointed. I have good mechanical abilities, speak well, know how to follow instructions well, and problem solving is a must as with decision making. To whom ever sees this and gives me that blessing, may their blessings be 10 fold.
Hello Charles, The Home Depot in Chalmette is hiring. They're nationally recognized for having Veteran friendly hiring practices and you can apply right at the store. Visit the Customer Service area and ask about their in-store application kiosks. Make sure you speak to the store manager about employment opportunities after you apply.
Thank you Marcus. I will make the attempt. I did apply on line once and the store gave me a phone number to call. The automated system asked for some kind of number. I didn't understand. All the same, I will try what you suggested. Thanks again.
