Skype question???
I have an upcoming interview and it will be a Skype interview. I have never used Skype before. Can I use my tablet (with my wifi) to accept this call. And secondly how do they find me since my tablet has no phone number? I really don't want to use my cellphone (I prefer a larger screen so they can see me better) My interview is Monday so I need to get this set up today so I can test it out and familiarize my self with this app. any help is greatly appreciated. the website gives me info on making calls but not receiving calls.

Most folks have answered the technical questions for Skype. Be sure to test it out before the interview. Make sure there's enough light on you so you can be seen clearly and also choose a shirt/blouse/top that is professional. It's all about "staging" so you can make a good impression.

I think that everyone has done a great job telling you about Skyping. Here are a couple of glitches and gotchas. Sometimes Skype will have background noise (whining or crackling). Sometimes it will only be on one end. Don't be afraid to ask to reconnect if that happens. Skype can drop calls too. They should be accustomed to this if they regularly interview on Skype. Just wait for then to call you back. You can share your screen on Skype if you want to highlight your resume. Just be sure that your desktop is clean and free from offensive material if you decide to do something like that, obviously!

Yes you can use your tablet. You will have a Skype number assigned to you so you don't need a phone number. It is linked to your email address. Also may want to download skype and test with a friend who has it so you can test the functionality prior to the interview. Good luck!
I've done Skype interviews, and I hate it. Not one of those who likes looking at myself on camera. That said, If you want to look great, (a) dress to impress (they may say you didn't need to wear that Sunday best outfit, but it will make them appreciate your efforts, and (b) see if you can't put a spotlight/lamp shining at you from behind your tablet or computer. It's an old tried and true photography trick that will make you look even younger and more beautiful on camera. Also, don't be afraid to take notes during the interview. It will show you are paying attention and thoughtful about the conversation. Don't be afraid to smile! You'll do well. I can tell. Break a leg, preferably not your own. :)
