Recovering from the recession

In 2008 I lost my job as a graphic designer and had to work part time jobs to survive. I had no medical or vacations. I worked hard and got a lot of respect from my piers but it wasn't the career I had for 30 years. I kept fighting and tried several jobs over the years. I was just offered a graphic art job with a well known company. I'll have the benefits and there is little turn over because no one wants to leave. I start on November 12. Keep fighting people. You only lose if you give up.

Hi David,

I am sorry to hear that you lost your job during the recession. It seems to be the case for many of the other members in the Jobcase community. However, I think that you persevered and worked through those trying times, and came out the other side knowing more about yourself. Congratulations on your new job with great benefits and amazing company. That is such a great #SuccessStory - I know that it will encourage and empower other members who are still on the search to know that their fight is worth fighting.

Thanks for sharing!
