Mr. Harry Wasylychyn

I have tried to apply for positions listed for several years and have been denied each time. I know the denial is because of my credit report but I have never had a chance to explain. in 2013 I spent over 9 months in the hospital. When I got home, I learned that all my credit cards etc. were charged off. I contacted the companies but they weren't willing to work with me. The only account not charged off was my mortgage because that was set up automatic withdrawal. If you look at my resume I'm very qualified. I'm also a 100% service connected disabled Vet.

I ran into a similar situation many year ago not with home depot but another big retailer. I was never given a specific reason directly from the company but shortly after the interview I would get a thanks but no thanks email. I found out later, in a conversation with a HR repr, that those companies have hiring policies that need to be followed at each store. Background investigations are more intensive depending on the responsibilities of the position. Did you sign background or credit check waiver? They typically don't pull that type of personal information without applicant consent. Stop by the store and ask for the manager then explain the your situation and see what they suggest.
