Life has changed, looking for a job!
I was in the workforce as an receptionist first and worked my way up to an account coordinator before getting married & moving to a closer company where I was an administrative executive assistant for around 7 years to partners, managing directors, planned large charity events, then my husband got called to AZ to help start a church. We moved from TX in 2007 and first 7 years I was a stay at home mom and was asked to be the women’s minister where I was fortunate to start the ministry and grew from 20-160 women and taught bible studies, leadership groups, planned large events, did speaking engagements, and as my 4 kids grew I started subbing but needed more income so I decided to teach as a SPED paraprofessional this past year, and now with 4 teenagers all leaving the house in next 7 years would like to get back out in the working world and start building my resume up with experience. Any suggestions on the best way to apply and make a positive impression after being gone for so long?
Hi Melinda, what an inspiring and fruitful journey you have had! Thank you for sharing it with us. Would you consider doing something like 1:1 tutoring after school hours, or working as a caregiver? If you have experience working with children, then I'm sure you'd be a wonderful candidate for those roles! And most times you can set your own wages and hours which gives you some flexibility.
