Help! They fired me.

Last week I was doing a haul and the dispatcher told me I had to make it by 6 that night. It was my own STUPID fault but I drove faster than I ever do. I just really wanted to shut him the hell up and make it there. Well it rained hard earlier that day and I hit a big puddle. The truck skid and I flipped it onto its side. I called it in right away and then yesterday my boss told me I am fired. I couldn’t believe it!!!!! Anyone else ever get into an accident? I can't be the only one! Not sure what to do now.

Driving for companies presents a great bit of liabilities, and I say this because of course nothing like driving a big rig but still with liabilities; I drive for Amazon Flex and of course the expectations are extremely high. For example when you take a block it usually doesn't match the amount of packages you are expected to deliver.

However, after just a few days of doing this I quickly came to the conclusion that no matter what they decide to do even if it means termination; I will not drive outside I what I consider a comfort zone for myself no matter what the outcome may hold.

This is course means that they may decide to terminate me but at least I will still have my driving license in tack, and without risking my sense of stability.

You can always get another job but your life or the life of others is irreplaceable. Life with continue with or without that job or that occupation as a matter of fact.

Would you fire someone who didn't get out of the truck and check ffg or clearance? If I owned the truck and vcd trailer, you'd clean it out where you wrecked it and better be long gone when I get there. Sounds like you got lucky driving 8 yrs without "bumping" something.

Remember is only a job, you could have hurt or hurt someone else, if my dispatcher gives me a time I can't make it I'll tell him so or I'll do the best I can. They're working for a paycheck like you and me

Go to swift ,they will hire you. And never let dispatch tell how fast to go.

As you said... your own fault. Try to find a similar job. Now you know the consequences. It's not like nobody ever has an accident but some people are a red numbers to a company. Remember this is business not personal or charity
