Entry Level jobs
I am a recent graduate from San Jose State university with a Masters in Mass Communication. I am looking for entry level jobs in Social Media Marketing, Event Planning and Public Relations.

Congrats on graduating!
I also noticed you have a bachelors in Journalism, too! I have a bachelors in Journalism, and took a winding road that lead me to social media marketing. I would start by expanding your search to titles that also include content & marketing - I have been an "online content coordinator", "marketing associate", "social media specialist" and a "marketing manager". All my positions were heavily focused on building social media, so the titles all really depend on the specific company. Being able to write and communicate effectively is a HUGE skill that will separate you from the crowd. There is a growing emphasis on "storytelling" in social media and PR, so make sure to leverage your storytelling background in your cover letter & interview.
