Question!
When a drug test is given for employment new hire, does it screen for tobacco or alcohol, and they don't mention it? Urine test? Blood draw?

Not normally and it's usually a urine test

No they only test for what they tell you they're testing for. Tobacco and alcohol are legal plus it would get pretty expensive to test everyone for stuff that's already legal and widely used.

Tobacco no alcohol yes.

Blood test only test for what they ask for.there are thousands of substance's that can be in your blood and if they tested for all of them it would take years.has far had your friends who tested positive and don't do drugs, there are other things that can give a positive result ,like poppy seeds that are on hamburger buns

No

Hmmm this is an interesting question. I haven't come across a company who tests for alcohol and or/ tobacco- however I can understand if this may be a concern of yours. Rest assured that as long as you don't show up to the interview intoxicated (and by all means, please don't ever do that!) and you pass your drug screenings you should not have anything to worry about. I understand most feel these tests are a violation of privacy, however from a company and management stand point you want to keep your employees safe- allowing illegal behavior (such as illicit drug use or alcohol intoxication) adds to this scenario of keeping employees safe. If there are concerns about prescription drugs, you can ask your physician to write a letter to this employer stating you are on medication- but please do not (and they probably won't) have them listed specifically. There are HIPPA regs for that situation. At any rate, stay honest and safe. Hope this helps!
Typically it's urine. 6 pannel. Thc, cocaine, amphetamines, barbituates, opiates, benzoates. Unless the job requires u not smoke (medical field) they won't test for it and alcohol is only tested for by court orders, it cannot disqualify u from a job (unless it's like for an anti alcohol thing)
