Is driving uber a good part time job?
How much money do you make as an Uber driver?
Are there any women drivers out there? What's your experience?
I want to get a part time job as an uber driver so I can save money for my vacation in March

future Uber drivers. here's a little helpful hand that nobody was ever tell you I had to figure it out on my own there is a app you can attach on your phone hurdler hurdler I believe so you can keep track of your driving at the end of the day gives you the option to pick the ones that were work-related and the ones that were not really helpful but here's The Clincher if you use your app before work in the morning and you get a ride or request for a ride and you take those without going on your way too much for being late for your regular job and also do it on the way home your gas going to and from work will be automatically added to a write off because you're working for Uber so all gas is write off but keep in mind you have to have that app on your have to pick up a few every once in awhile is there a few times that I did that and the request for a ride with so far out of the way I would have been late for work so good luck guys

My best friend (female) drives Uber. Her husband started doing it a few years back and was able to save for a nice vacation for them. She has no complaints with it. And even gave me a few links to get started but I don't trust my car right now for that kind of traveling. She said that uber can provide you with a car rental (but it comes out of what you earn, not too much I think). Not sure where you're located but I would say give it a try and market yourself in high traffic areas and or airports. The money you make is, of course, dependent on how many fares you get and how far they need to go.
I didn't read any of the previous responses to your question, but I hope I didn't overlap too much from others.
Good luck and be safe if you decide to give it a try =)

I've been a Uber driver for about 6 weeks now. My car isn't that great on gas so for me, no. You will meet a lot of great people but uber has flooded my market. I get too many $3.16 fares making it not worth my time or my gas. Perhaps if you're in a better market with a gas saving car you could make more. On New Years Eve I was waiting in the parking lot for a fare when 7 gun shots went off very close to my car.Is it worth it??????

I prefer not to comment.

I bringing careful cause I'm that one, that will get caught. Called insurance company. Legally, you need to have a business policy.

Hi Annie how are you. Just to answer your question driving for uber is a good thing you work when you want to work.not only that I have church member that drives for Huber even my Bishop.

Being a woman...I'd be a little scared..how do you know if you pick up a freak? Beware please

I startedChristmas eve, just learning the ropes. My second pay out was over $500.00 doing it full time and the tips aren't that good either. Hoping it'll get better once I get when and where the best times are. I'm thinking I'll be driving a lot of college kids once they get back from break. But different cities will have different success rates.

Yes, driving for Uber or and Lyft is a great part and full time job. Many women are doing it to supplement their income.
here's my thinking as a finance guy. The federal government gives business use . 67 cents per mile deduction. If you drive uber and you drive 10 miles, the fare paid is around $10 you keep $8 the irs says it cost you $6.70 so you made $1.30 then you pay tax and self employment so you net around $1 a local 10 miles takes about 15 minutes so unless it's mostly highway like to an airport , you are effectively making $4/ hour. this is a lousy deal Go drive a limo or a school-bus
