I want to propose a way to make a major difference in all of our struggles for survival in an economic system designed not to work for any but those at the top. As long as we keep focusing all of our energy on trying to find jobs within this system, we are divided and disempowered. The fact is that the current economic system is very much a pyramid scheme in which the majority of jobs are sub-living wages and there are not very many jobs that pay a living wage. The problem is that it is by design. It cannot be fixed. An alternative way to go is to stop playing that game and change the paradigm. If we form new businesses organized as collectives similar to the Kibbutz or kolkhoz model, democratically run with all members equal decision makers, responsibility takers, stake holders and participants, thus eliminating the inherently dysfunctional paradigm of employers and employees, bosses and workers, we can combine our talents, skills, resources and energies to free ourselves of the losing proposition of trying to make a go if it playing it the System's way. These egalitarian models have proven themselves and do work. It is not a perfect paradigm either, but it produces far superior results, both in terms of the workplace experience and in terms of the quality of workmanship in the products and services. Please if you are reading this, consider it. No matter what currently popular cynicism says, an egalitarian symbiotic paradigm is NOT against human nature. It is just against the current system.
