Felony Friendly Job? Does It Exist?
I have a non-violent felony from five years ago. I learned my lesson but employers treat me like dirt and refuse to give me a job. Anyone know what kind of jobs I can get as a felon?

I would also check out this site: https://exoffenders.net/employment-jobs-for-felons/

Hey Anthony, I think you should check out this website: http://jobsthathirefelons.org I've seen it around on Jobcase and the companies look pretty solid.

I tried to send you a link to the POVERTY AFFIDAVIT but I'm not Tech Say. But you can Google it.

Have you considered getting a Certificate of Relief? It could help you find a job.

Also, have you looked into getting your felony expunged? Even if you don't have any money you can ask for a , um, POVERTY AFFIDAVIT C with a PETITION FOR AN EXPUNGEMENT.

Actually, there's a GOVERNMENT PROGRAM that gives some type of kickback or something to companies for hiring felons.
Anthony, I would like to commend you for learning a terribly hard lesson. It's not easy getting the GP to trust you once you've made a terrible and public mistake but it is possible. I worked at two companies that hired ex-offenders (one has unfortunately folded) and their requirements for hiring an ex-offender were essentially the same: non-violent offense, the age of the former offender, what the former offender has done since paying their debt to society and , of course, their job qualifications. If it is your first (and hopefully last) offense your state may allow for an expungement but you must request it and you must qualify. Decide in what role you would feel most comfortable. In my state a large number of ex-offenders are in trades. You might be surprised at what is lurking in your plumber's or tow truck driver's background. Whatever you decide, do not be evasive with a prospective employer. Some companies that contract with schools, government or the facilities that serve the elderly are precluded by law from hiring convicted felons and concealing your past will only result in termination after the background check reveals it. If you don't mind the spiritual arena then you might find that churches are a tad more forgiving than commercial enterprises however it is difficult to find full time employment in a religious setting and they seldom offer benefits. You have received several good pieces of advice and it wouldn't hurt to follow up on those leads. We here in this community are an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on should you feel the need. I genuinely wish you well.
