Have a vacation coming up. When do I let interviewers know?
I was laid off from my job a few months ago and I've been a major procrastinator with applying for new ones. I had been finishing up a couple classes, so I wasn't in a super hurry to do it. I have a vacation coming up that's been planned and paid for a few months, but there's a few jobs that have recently popped up I'm interested in. I really want to submit my resume but I'm concerned they'll want to interview me while I'm gone. Should I be letting someone know I'll be gone for a certain period and, if so, how do i do that?

A lot of people take vacations before they start a new gig. They'll either ask you during the interview process or let them know when you start.

Getting to an interview is hard. I suggest that you stay up late or wake up early.....do whatever you need to do to make that interview if you're really interested in it.

I should've mentioned this in the original post, but I'll be out of the country. I live in California and I'll be in Europe for a couple weeks. I can't back out because everythings been taken care of for about 8 months.

Don't worry about letting them know. Phone and video interviews are a good way to do it and I'm sure they can set that up instead. Actually had a friend who did 4 phone interviews before being offered the job he's at now
Let them know that you are interested in the position. Then let them know that you are out of town at this time on a family emergency and what date you will probably be returning. Tell them thank you very much for the opportunity your the perfect candidate.
