Some time we have to take on jobs we don't want , something beats nothing, so start there, use that job that you don't want as a stepping stone, or create your own ,JOB.

Ms. Correll, It is a dilemma you are facing. You are a professional and know how to remain sound. It is easy to find fault, criticize, or condemn when one is not experiencing the same outcomes from endeavors. Maybe those people are under stress also. I understand that to say to someone be well and go does not bring any resolution to anybody's problem. I know by bearing along can be more encouraging at times even if other may comment from time to time. It is very hard trying to discuss problems with relatives especially if they are older because they do not know how the situation affects you. And as a professional it is hard for you just to lecture anybody. Bearing I learn was something to endure in the worse of times. Keep the faith and continue doing what you know is the right thing.

Have you ever thought that maybe your friends and family are tired of hearing it so they tune you out? You get one or two times to rant and that's the end of it for them. Plus it may be very hard to understand why nobody will hire you for a lessor position because they look at it that any company would be happy to have someone more experienced in a lower paying position. You and I both know, it's very hard to even get noticed when that happens.

One thing you can say to the question of why are you looking at x job when you are over qualified is: I am looking for a career, not just a job. X company has the potential for me to learn and grow. Also, a lower paying position is a great way to learn about the company and it's culture.

1: Hiring employee at a company is a great expense when they don't stay any length of time less the 6 months. Now there t is a difference between a job and a career. Lower paid, are the benefits more and do you have to pay part or will they pay all. Check out what other companies are paying for the same position. Think about it research it, play role the situation and see how you would respond, plus know all the State, City, Local laws that govern that same position, sick leave, and deciding who the "Key Players" are and who you can trust to complete needed information. Now one last thing how would you grade yourself and be honest. Are there any concerns not everyone understand employment and what it really stands for or what the need for the rest of us. Think outside the box and all things considered go from there. Over qualified in what areas, you never explained that, no one is over qualified in doing anything they know how to be professional. Remember that, are the "Red Oak Trees" over qualified because of their height? No, that's just the way God created them. My qualification are not the same as yours but we both know, how, and understand what we are doing. It's a money concern, plus benefits, retirement and ??????????? what ever they think. Not trying to disrespect you or what you feel because it's real, been there done that. If you have any time look up or get a hand book concerning the company or just go on line and start studying concerning the company and don't be surprise. People knowledge is power and power is strength if used correctly. They don't understand the "Senior Level" it sounds wonderful and the benefits have changed or upgraded and so does the responsibility. We all pay a cost for upward mobility good or bad. All money is good it's just what you do with it may cause a concern. You're Good, don't worry just understand its how you work it, not how it work it for me. Meaning: Some people like lemon aide with sugar and some don't but it's still lemon aide.

Yeah, I think people who aren't going through it don't totally understand. Just remind yourself that you're doing the best you can and don't let your family get to you.
