I am sorry for your predicament. If you have a % of disability from your military transition- those funds should assist with bills. If you are injured a Dr. can sign off on State disability benefits while you recuperate. Your attorney- because I know you got one- should be able to hook you up with Dr.s that can corroborate your physical ability to work. After that IF they don't understand your situation; you might have to find other employment until you are able to stand and cook again. Best of luck to you.

I'm sorry as well & ty for your service too. You have lots of great advice so far & I believe that everything happens for a reason ; some of those bad may suck, but with them come good. So keep faith & I'll pray for you. :) Oh with your expertise on culinary & catering, maybe call around & see if a business needs someone to just work taking orders & stuff. Or if you love cooking, maybe start your own website. People are crazzzzzzzyyyy about recipes & ideas & I'm one of them. Ya never know... Good luck!

WOW, I’m so sorry to hear about your accident Isaiaz. I hope you didn’t suffer any serious injuries and on your way to being fully recovered. Accidents involving city transportation typically require legal action in order to gain compensation for your losses as a result of the injuries. Contact the Chicago Volunteer Legal Service or Legal Assistance Foundation for a consultation if you don’t have a legal advisor at this time.

Based on the experience you describe in this message you might be eligible to receive unemployment benefits. Visit How to Tell if I’m Eligible for Unemployment for more qualification and information then go to the Illinois Department of Employment Security to file a claim today.

Are you looking to get back to work? Make sure you consult with an attorney and understand your rights as an accident victim before making any employment commitments. Reach out to me with your work preferences when you’re ready and I will forward you some referrals.
