Why are they contacting me?
I get 3-4 messages per day from recruiters, HR, etc. ALL "claiming" to have read my resume and would like me to make an appointment or phone interview. 3 issues, 1. They are all from people in the Financial Services and Insurance communities. 2. I have NO interest or experience in these positions, yet the ALL say my RESUME show's i'm a "desirable" candidate? If they had actually READ my resume, how could they think i'm an IDEAL candidate???(I have no Financial or Insurance Lic. nor do I mention I have background or skills in those areas) 3. Why are not employers for which I am qualified, not seeing the same resume and contacting me for interviews etc.?

Do not waste your time trying to figure this out. These are auto generated emails that I get all the time and I am in medical and paralegal not finance. Your resume is posted somewhere and they respond with a general mass email. Why your not getting calls....hard to say. Is your resume like June clever or the Beave? Go bold go different stand out tell them who you are and what you can do and have done. Msg me if you want to see my resume it got me about 30 responses in 3 hours.

I feel your pain. Remove your resume from job boards such as CareerBuilder. That's where the financial and insurance institutions get the majority of their leads. I have never... not once... received a call from someone other than a financial or insurance institution through CareerBuilder. Sites such as CareerBuilder cater to the HR professional who wants to use the easy way to gain exposure for positions. See also Craigslist job postings.
As a hiring manager, I use headhunters. I want a firm to contact people who truly do qualify for a position I have. This makes my job easier and more targeted. There are a number of headhunter type agencies. Aerotek is one, but there are others. They help you find the job, target your resume, and all the jobs are going to be related to your industry and your goals. I (the company I work for) pays for this service, not you.
Find a headhunter agency Remove your profile from CareerBuilder and your resume from Craigslist. Get out and meet others in your industry... network.

Kevin, I saw your post and I couldn't help but smile. Relax, it's the quarterly push. I detest the euphemisms used in the insurance industry-financial services, customer services, people helping people-sound about right? It's insurance sales, plain and simple. How were you picked? Welcome to HR metrics. Demographics and keywords in your resume cued the program. Bonus and earnings aren't just about premiums; it's also about getting new salespeople. Should you decide to go into this industry and obtain the required licensing the recruiter gets a bonus. Once you develop your book of business and start seeing premium dollars, your recruiter gets a bonus. During the quarterly push if you recruit someone, YOU get a bonus too! No experience needed and reputable companies will reimburse you for the licensing upon proof of completion. I'm an insurance adjuster, been that done there. Those emails should have an opt out option for you so that they will cease. If like me you are also on LinkedIn you can opt out there. I hope this helps.

Hi Kevin: Oh man, that's definitely waving a red flag for me. When they contact you, are they emailing you? A lot of job-based scams use email as a way of reaching people. Do they have company websites, or are they mostly from gmail addresses? Give us some more info so we can help you figure out what messages are worth paying attention to!
CareerBuilder, upward and job case appeared to get there information from the internet and repost jobs for other companies and recruiting agencies adding an extra step. I was surprised at how bad career builder is and I too have received numerous text messages and emails
