Copywriter Job Summary
As a freelance member of the Marketing team, the Copywriter will be responsible for writing compelling and relevant copy. The Copywriter will be the primary author and editor of all marketing and blog articles designed for internal and external use. In this role the Copywriter will work closely with members of the Marketing department as well as company executives throughout the organization.
Copywriter Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Marketing team to write , edit and proof creative copy for all marketing and educational materials. This includes, but is not limited to, copy for emails, website (blog section), press releases, newsletters. Develop copy that supports the company’s brand positioning and strategic objectives. Conduct independent research to seek relevant and impact data, stats and talking points to craft content. Understand and research competitive landscape. Proofread materials for accuracy, correct use of grammar, punctuation and content. Ensure all documents and materials meet established content standards. Average weekly hours required will vary in the range of 10 to 35 hours per week. Copywriter Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, English, journalism, marketing or related field. 2+ years of professional writing experience as marketing copywriter and editor, preferably in an advertising, in-house agency, or freelance business. Must be able to share sample portfolio. Advertising and/or marketing background, with experience working with a premium brand and/or Education industry products/services a strong plus. Ability to concept and collaborate with Marketing and other internal teams. . Strict attention to detail, excellent grammar and copy-writing skills. I understand that the nature of the service you provide requires a certain degree of anonymity, but a few things about your posts and the website you are advertising just doesn't sit right with me.
Some of my concerns are:
- You posted 8 times in 20 minutes to various groups on Jobcase. That is considered spamming.
- The service is unethical
- The website is actually littered with grammatical errors and excessive use of conjunctive adverbs. That doesn't instill confidence in the services you are offering.
- You are passing off a photo of photographer and documentarian George Azar as your profile picture. Again, anonymity is fine, but why not just leave your profile picture blank in that case?
- The website is registered through a proxy. Again, I know that this might be required when dealing with the services that EssayService provides, but it doesn't leave your users or writers any recourse should they find themselves in a situation that requires them to contact the powers that be.
At a high level, it doesn't appear to be a scam, but there are a lot of red flags that are hard to ignore. I would implore users of the forum to consider these things before using the service or agreeing to freelance.
