Human Resource

Could someone explain to me, why would Human Resource have you take a drug test and a physical with their company doctor. Is this a standard procedure in hiring someone?

Yes. That is standard. It's part of the company policy, their own company Doctor said cheaper than sending you to an outsider, lastly, they get faster results. Good luck

Drug screening, physicals and background checks are becoming SOP for most businesses.

Yes because people smoke weed and drink while there on the job. And human resource don't help you. I had problems with the racial slurs that's going on with another employee. That's my problem I'm having with nacho daddy.

Yes it's very standard in a lot of job especially ones that require you to be involved with labor intense activity or environments that where temperatures can increase past 90 degree; like a factory or construction. Employers want to know your healthy enough to do the job in the first place and that your not risk of putting them in jeopardy of a liable suit claim.

Yes, it is common. They know this doctor and his practice and it helps them standardize the test and physical. Think of it as going through a "sports" physical --it isn't that detailed.
