That is considered “ Violence in the Workplace” it has nothing to do with weapons and everything to do with screaming, threatening, a threatening posture. The violation of this law is so aggregious there is no written regulation. It falls under General Duty. You can locate it in the 29 CFR, 1910. No employee, employer has the right to intimidate, frighten, embarrass via language in the workplace. This is the worse law an employer can violate, it carries criminal and civil penalties. I would definitely write OSHA a letter. Do not submit the complaint online, if you decide to do this. You are protected under the law. Your name cannot be exposed. The Agency will conduct an investigation. It’s easy to do, nothing to fear. Good luck and NEVER allow anyone to treat you this way. Speak up and defend yourself. Put them in their place. If you get fired for doing this you will have an excellent case. All people are entitled to respect and NO ONE has the right to take it from you and most definitely not speak to you like this while at work. It is a reflection on the company you work for, the people, the management. They are not even ignorgrant, that can be fixed. They are simply uneducated, stupid, unprofessional swines. Personally, I would look for another job. A company like that is not worthy to have you. You deserve better. You are entitled to respect, consideration and to be treated as part of the team, which sounds like they have no team effort. I wish you the best. Remember...never let anyone treat you like soiled tissue. You matter. You are a contributing member of that company. They are not worthy of you. Start looking for something else. Definitely leave that place, it sounds like a dead end in every way. Take care -
