No Leggings Please!

Is it just me, or have more people forgotten how to dress for the job? I have coworkers who wear leggings as pants, windbreakers, sports t-shirts...I could go on! Can we PLEASE get back to dressing like we respect our jobs???

I totally agree there is a time and a place for those types of clothing.

I agree and disagree. As a millennial that worships companies like Apple, Vivint, Facebook and Google there is a perk to letting your employees go casual. It creates a sense of equality between roles and makes people feel more comfortable. Though, many of these companies have policies around customers. If a customer is around these companies have employees where business casual.

I typically wear business formal when in a supervisory/management position because this feels natural and anyone that knows me knows I am laid back and have no wish to be "better" than someone else, let alone be seen as such.

Psychologically speaking this has probably warranted me the raises/promotions I have gotten in the past. There have been studies done that indicate those that dress better get raises. Too solid for me to pass up.

Let people wear what they want. Worry more about yourself. This gives you an edge, and hey, when you have a mild cold and still need to go into work you can sport your pajamas.

I agree, I consider myself someone who knows how to dress and I might where leggings on a casual Friday with a long sweater and boots but some ppl take it to the extreme and mess it up for the rest of us

Sara, I'm the supervisor and I don't over look it. I suspend your ass for 2,3 days WITHOUT PAY.... Next time I just fire your trifling ass. I'm old, prior military officer and I am the boss. Camel toe, blouse too tight, pants by your ass with boxers showing, unshaved face or body smells. Hair unkept gets you an immediate response from my office. I'm not a kid, child, or young person. I'm old so fucking deal with it.

I think that leggings are very sharp looking if you pair them up appropriately. I personally feel that they can look just as good if not better then slacks or dresses. Maybe some people need to learn to wear them with a better sense of fashion.
