There should be laws but there aren't
I just don't understand when new management takes over they have the legal right to fire anyone they feel like. I don't understand why the owners of companies don't stand up for there employees and listen to their side of the story also. But they don't. and I don't understand why someone can be fired by a new manager because they don't like you. But they do. If I were the owner of a company, I would want to check into the fact of whether they made the right choice with new management. Instead of blowing it off as their subordinates job.

Hi Carinne,
I totally agree that they should check into any major decisions and see how it is working out. I know it's hard when a new manager or company takes over the place you love to work. It happened to me about 6 years ago at a restaurant where I was a waitress. I LOVED my boss but when he was let go the company constantly changed managers and things became really stressed there for awhile, but it finally calmed down.
New managers can bring many new changes and challenges. Not all companies who take over an old one will fire those that are currently there and instead hire and tre-rain them so they may keep their jobs.
Sadly, unless you have a contract or something in writing saying you cannot be fired "at will" then your job is subject to termination at anytime. However, if you feel you are unjustly treated or know someone that is you can contact the HR department of that company either in house or corporate.
Thanks for your feedback and I hope you have an amazing day! ; )
