Beware Scam: TecAlliance fake offices
I had an interview this morning w/ Kimberly Walter with TecAlliance; supposedly the company was opening offices in my area and they wanted people to work from home getting the business off the ground and then assisting in setting up the office. I was to set up an account on Hangout and the interview took place on there. Instead of video conferencing, she used the instant messaging feature. I was offered the job and great benefits, felxible hours, 401k, etc. They would send me a check to setup my home office and she rattled off a list of things I would need. I asked where the home office was located out of and she told me South Jordan, UT. After the interview I called the home office and was told that it was a work from home scam and that they were not opening office in my area.

I had the same thing happen to me but I called the person out on it and they immediately stopped talking to me and blocked me.

Shooot...this happened to me too recently... I honestly thought it was real, until the person asked me my info and my bank account...unfortunately the person stole my money....made a claim...

This would have been a red flag for me: They would send me a check to set up my home office . Who does that?
It was a good thing that you had the foresight to call the home office...

I was called out of the blue by A man with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be affiliated with Microsoft and told me my computer has been compromised and says he needs to fix the problem by letting him take control of it and then charges me a huge amount of money afterwards to return the control to me. I was ripped off more than once.

What kind job

This exact same thing happened to me this morning. It all started from applying for a job on job hat, which is linked to jobcase. They tried to get me to buy (3) $100 gift cards. Which was to be reimbursed to me. I called the agency name they were using and was advised this scam has been going on since last year and that the FBI is aware. I also filed a complaint with the FTC. You can't even look for a job now without scams.. sad world we live in.

I had the same thing happen to me today. Very disappointing.
Here's what mine said.
