Honestly if they did not give a telephone number then that's a pretty good indication they do'n't want anyone to call them. Honestly places like this receive a huge number of responses and if they had to speak to everyone they would never get anything done. IMHO contacting them when they've implicitly made it clear NOT to contact them directly would demonstrate impatience and a lack of consideration. By all means, do what you think you need to do.
