Work with Recruiters

I found recruiters are very useful. They can deliver my applications to HR managers. Last few weeks, I received calls and emails from recruiters, and they even got me into phone interview with hiring managers. That is wonderful. In fact, some of them are contracted pre-screeining agents for very good organizations. Please think about them and work with them.

I just may be the droid you are looking for.

Having a recruiter contact you is great...and I'm speaking of tech recruiters...BUT you should work with those that are in the same city/state/region as you are.

I am constantly bombarded by recruiters from all over the country who work in a sweatho---er, call center who search the major job sites with key words for job descriptions to pull resumes and then send out a "template" email. I get a ton of emails saying they have a position for a XXXXX (something I can't do) located in XXXX, XX (and I don't live anywhere near there). They are basically trying to throw out a net, catch a lead or two, submit you....and if you're picked for an interview, you never hear from them again. That's why it's SO important to work with recruiters on a personal level.

Recruiters can assist in many ways including interview preparation and resume revision to make job applicants more marketable. The generally only charge a fee to the company hiring their clients after the enployee has gone through an introductory period of approximately 90 days. They also have contacts at many companies which will result in more interviews and time savings by reducing the job seeker's time spent on applying to online positions.

Hi Quanyi, Glad to hear your recruiter resources are connecting you to potential employment. Are there any fees associated with that service. Where did you find your recruiters? Online, References, or Other?

Without a doubt, Recruiters have all the incentive in the world to find you a job. If they are experienced, they have cultivated relationships with HR staff and hiring managers. He or she has established some kind of rapport with the company to have obtained a signed contract. Recruiters also have very expensive, continually updated software that provides mid- and upper-level managers and HR staff for every company of any size in the U.S. Also, they don't get paid until their placement has worked at the company for three months. They won't present you as a candidate unless they believe you are a good fit. Always show respect for recruiters, and try to cultivate effective relationships with them.
