Today's job market is crowded and competitive. With that said and hard to argue why would anyone make the task harder on themselves. If you haven't heard or thought about this statement consider it now - "You only have one chance to make a first impression." That statement is a fact. Some may want to argue it but as a living, thinking and reasoning individual your sub-conscious will, literally, in a split second categorize what is seen, heard and smelled.

1. So when looking for and going to interviews do a little research. If your applying for a position as a exercise trainer or life guard don't wear a suit and tie. If your looking to be a manager for a corporation save the leggings for the gym when you get off work or going to the riding stables.
2. Now that social media is basically a must for communication you must be extremely careful what to put out there on the internet. What ever you have posted is up for grabs. I will tell you if I am seriously considering someone for a position it will enter that name into the search engines and see what surfaces.
3. Always ask yourself, How do others see me?
