I've been pretty lucky since relocating to Texas finding work in Automotive Collision. Lately with all the mergers going on with Multi Shop Organizations in collision around the country, I'm having a time finding a quality independent Body Shop / Collision Center to land at in the between Austin and San Antonio. Back in New England, Independent shops are the backbone of the collision industry, all types: low-cost, insurance production grade, and higher end vehicle facilities.

It seems the car counts are growing between Austin and San Antonio, but I haven't found many non mass-market, chain collision shops looking for a production manager or even a estimator. They must get repaired somewhere. I expect a good, manufacturer certified, independent shop doesn't have much turnover, but they must all be a well kept secret.
