Is there any value to getting a career coach?

The title sounds like like their personal trainers for careers so I’m asking because I’ve never had any luck committing to personal trainers in the past. What qualifications should I be looking for in a career coach and how much can they help me identify a career path and follow it?

Yes Sandra! And for me, I feel I don't want to be a hectic burden for my coach provider since, I know him personally too, who cares lot.I don't want to lose the bond between us in other ways!

Career counseling is a good idea for anyone with employment gaps, career change goals, and recent grads seeking industry related jobs. The recruiting process has changed tremendously in recent years so it takes innovative planning and maneuvering to gain and maintain a career opportunity.

It depends on your career level and what you looking to accomplish. I would look into free local career counseling service first then use career coaches if you want more personal services.

Hi Sandra: Thanks for posting! As I understand it, a career coach is someone who can keep you motivated during your job search, and provide you with useful feedback. But why pay for a career coach when you have the Jobcase community to help you? :)
