I want to thank everyone who posted about their job scams
If I hadn't heard those stories, I may not have known that the interview I was just in was a scam. It was for a graphic design job. I went through the whole interview process, which was by text, then they said they were going to send me a check for equipment, that I had to buy through their vendor, and it had to come from me. I remembered the scams I read about, with people wanting you to buy equipment with bad checks. I wrote back "No thank you" and they wrote back "You lazy to work?" Big scam, but thank you to everyone for the heads up!

Hi, Michelle! Kudos to you for putting it all together. Scammers like the ones you encountered prey upon people's desperation to get a job right away. It can often make people overlook some warning signs, like interviewing via text, having to pay a certain amount for "training", or being asked to cash a check for "equipment." The Jobcase community is so great, though, because people look out for one another and share their experiences, good and bad, so other people can benefit from their knowledge. Here's to hoping that you get a great LEGITIMATE offer soon enough!
