Exit interviews are a rare occurrence these days as most employers prefer not expose themselves to negative feedback but kudos to you if you've been asked to participate in one. In my experience it’s typically a combination of things. In some cases you’ll be asked to sign a resignation confirmation notice and complete a brief survey with basic company policies, practices, and culture questions. Some employers may ask you about your department leadership and on (VERY) rare occasions you may be asked “what can we do to keep you” but please don’t get your hopes up for this one! Emotional management is important during these sessions so just remember to keep yourself professional at all times. It's good practice and pays off later if you choose to use them as a reference.
