my tips for their gas
I recently was a cab driver. I quit because the boss wanted us (the drivers) to pay for the gas. It's their car not mine. Why should I put my money that I make back into the car? Feels like I was working for free

Hi Bradley Saltrup ,
I was interestedly what you said as I thought the cab companies paid for the gas - that was what I thought set driving for a cab company vs a rideshare app apart.
I did some research, and it looks like while the driver is responsible for putting gas in the vehicle (after all, you used it), the owner (typically the cab company) is responsible for all maintenance, insurance, etc.
I hope that this helps. Have you considered driving for Lyft or Uber? I know that they have programs that allow you to rent a car to drive with, and they typically pay more than cab companies.
